Microchip Technology LAN9252 Slave Controller Evaluation Boards are designed for the LAN9252 2/3-port EtherCAT slave controller with dual integrated Ethernet PHYs. The LAN9252 slave controllers can interface with most 8/16-bit embedded controllers and 32-bit embedded controllers with an 8/16-bit bus. The LAN9252 development platform includes LAN9252-ADD-ON for EL9800 development platform, LAN9252-4PORT eval kit in expansion mode, LAN9252-HBIPLUS, LAN9252-PICTAIL, LAN9252-DIGIO, LAN9252-3PORT, and LAN9252-4PORT boards.

The EVB-LAN9252-ADD-ON is used as an add-on-board with the Beckhoff EL9800 EtherCAT evaluation board. This EVB-LAN9252-ADD-ON board supports the DIGIO PDI and SPI modes of the LAN9252 slave controller. The EVB-LAN9252-ADD-ON board consists of an onboard EEPROM that is used to configure the EtherCAT salve configuration. This EVB-LAN9252-ADD-ON board also supports two integrated PHYs via the onboard RJ45 connectors.

The LAN9252-3PORT Board is designed as a standalone platform to develop an EtherCAT slave device with SPI/SQI as the PDI interface. This LAN9252-3PORT Board can support one external PHY through the MII interface and two integrated PHYs via the onboard RJ45 connectors. The LAN9252-3PORT board also consists of an onboard EEPROM to configure the EtherCAT salve configuration. The integrated PHYs can fit optical interfaces to form onboard fiber interfaces via the SFP module.

The LAN9252-4PORT Evaluation Kit in Expansion Mode is designed by cascading two LAN9252 ESC in back-to-back configurations via the MII interface. This LAN9252-4PORT evaluation kit supports SPI/SQI-based PDI configurations with onboard PIC32MX and four integrated PHYs via onboard RJ45 connectors. The LAN9252-4PORT evaluation kit consists of an onboard EEPROM to configure the EtherCAT slave configuration.

The LAN9252-SPI Evaluation Board is designed as a generic interface to various third-party processors used in EtherCAT slave applications. This evaluation board is connected to the EtherCAT system via standard RJ45 connectors. The LAN9252-SPI evaluation board features fly-wiring headers for SPI, a 40-pin microcontroller interface for HBI/SPI, and EEPROM fitted for EtherCAT Slave Information (ESI). This evaluation board can be used for software development of the EtherCAT slave code before the final hardware is completed.

The LAN9252-PICtail™ Add-On Board is designed as an expansion board compatible with Explorer 16 development platform. This LAN9252-PICtail board supports two integrated PHYs via the onboard RJ45 connectors. The LAN9252-PICtail board also has the option to select HBI PDI and SPI/SQI configurations. This LAN9252-PICtail board consists of an onboard EEPROM to configure the EtherCAT salve configuration.

This LAN9252 DIGIO evaluation kit supports various DIG-IO PDI configurations with an onboard jumper for configuring the inputs and LEDs for outputs. The LAN9252 DIGIO evaluation kit supports two integrated PHYs via the onboard RJ45 connectors. This LAN9252 DIGIO evaluation kit consists of an onboard EEPROM to configure the EtherCAT slave configuration.
