Mouser Electronics Now Stocking Renesas RA2L1 Microcontrollers with Touch Interface

January 12, 2021 - Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the RA2L1 Group microcontrollers from Renesas Electronics. The devices feature an operating current of 64 μA/MHz and ultra-low software standby current of 250 nA, which, combined with an innovative touch interface, make them ideal for a variety of connected home, Internet of Things (IoT), and other automation applications.

The Renesas RA2L1 microcontrollers, available from Mouser Electronics, use a 48 MHz Arm^® Cortex^®-M23 core based on the Armv8-M architecture, and come with up to 256 Kbytes of code flash memory, 32 Kbytes of SRAM, and a capacitive touch sensing unit. The advanced capacitive touch IP in the RA2L1 microcontrollers provides enhanced operability for a variety of touch and touchless system implementations. The devices' capacitive touch noise tolerance meets the requirements of IEC EN61000-4-3 level 4 (radiated) and EN61000-4-6 level 3 (conducted) to ensure reliable operation with minimal sensing errors.

The microcontrollers are supported by Renesas' Flexible Software Package (FSP), which enables rapid implementation of complex security and connectivity functions by allowing customers to reuse legacy code and combine it with software from other Arm partners. The FSP also offers tools to increase efficiency, accelerating the development process for projects targeting the RA2L1 microcontrollers.

Target applications for the RA2L1 microcontrollers include home appliance, industrial and building automation, medical and healthcare, and consumer human-machine interface (HMI) applications.
