Power Integrations PI Expert Online
Power Integrations PI Expert Online is an innovative, web-based tool that inputs users' specifications and generates power conversion solutions for Power Integrations' IC products. The PI Expert Online is easily accessible and compatible with many web browsers, with no download required. PI Expert Online quickly generates a complete power supply design, including a schematic diagram and detailed parameters, bill of materials (BOM), board layout recommendations, and detailed transformer winding instructions. At this point, it is simple to start building and testing working prototypes.
The complete magnetic design offers core size, number of turns, appropriate wire thicknesses and number of wires to be used for each winding. Additionally, detailed winding instructions are provided for mechanical assembly. Control during the design process is given through PI Xls Designer. The PI Xls Designer is a spreadsheet application calculates input, output and all other specifications creating a a power conversion solution.
PI Expert has been updated to Version 2.2.10 and supports USB PD and USB PD + PPS designs using InnoSwith3-Pro and InnoSwitch3-CP switcher ICs. The web-based program automatically generates Power Data Objects (PDOs) matching USB Power Delivery and Programmable Power Supply requirements, eliminating the need to individually compute voltages and currents of all required PDOs.
