Texas Instruments LM5170EVM-BIDIR Converter Evaluation Module (EVM)
Texas Instruments LM5170EVM-BIDIR Converter Evaluation Module (EVM) is designed to showcase the LM5170-Q1. The LM5170-Q1 is a high-performance dual-phase bi-directional converter ideal for 48V to 12V dual battery system applications. The evaluation module can be configured to achieve a bi-directional power converter in the form of either the current source or voltage source. The direction of power flow can be controlled either by an external command signal or by the onboard jumper. The evaluation module can be operated through the onboard interface headers by a DSP, an FPGA, an MCU, or other digital controllers. Two of the Texas Instruments LM5170EVM-BIDIR can be paralleled together to make a three or four-phase interleaved converter for a higher power. Even more evaluation modules can be paralleled for a greater number of phases. Many convenient jumper headers are also included for versatile configurations of the evaluation module.Features
- Buck Mode: 48V port voltage range 6V to 75V; 12V port voltage regulated at 14.5V
- Boost Mode: 12V port voltage range 3V to 48V; 48V port voltage regulated at 50.5V
- Max DC current into or out of the 12V port is 60A
- Built-in analog voltage loop control, while it also accepts MCU digital voltage loop control through interface connectors
- Daisy chain multi-phase capable for interleaved 3, 4, 6, 8 phases operation to support higher power
