STMicroelectronics EVLSTGAP3S3S Half-Bridge Evaluation Board
STMicroelectronics EVLSTGAP3S3S Half-Bridge Evaluation Board evaluates the STGAP3S3S, an isolated single-gate driver. The STGAP3S3S features a 3A current capability, rail-to-rail outputs, and optimized UVLO and DESAT protection thresholds for SiC MOSFETs. These features make it optimal for high-power motor drivers in industrial applications. The gate driver features an internal Miller CLAMP and a single output pin, optimizing suppression of positive and negative gate spikes during fast commutations in half-bridge topologies.
The 5V VAUX connection supplies the board, feeding the isolated DC-DC converters for the low-side and high-side driving sections. When using a 5V MCU, AUX directly supplies the gate drivers. When using a 3.3V MCU, the system utilizes the onboard linear regulator instead. Dedicated connectors control the PWM and Reset inputs, while an onboard LED displays the diagnostic outputs.
The recommended board network connects the device protection features (Desaturation, soft turn-off, and Miller clamp), allowing the user to evaluate them at the board test points easily. Dual input pins enable HW interlocking protection and signal polarity selection to prevent cross-conduction in the event of controller malfunction. The device supports negative gate driving, and the onboard isolated DC-DC converters enable optimized SiC MOSFET driving voltages.
The STMicroelectronics EVLSTGAP3S3S board allows evaluating all of the STGAP3S3S features while operating with a bus voltage up to 1200V.
