ROHM Semiconductor AC/DC Converter ICs

ROHM Semiconductor AC/DC Converter ICs are designed with integrated FETs and pulse width modulation (PWM) for a variety of applications. These AC/DC converter ICs provide an ideal system for products with an electrical outlet. The AC/DC converter ICs feature auto-restart capability, 650V circuit start voltage, and low switching frequencies of 65kHz and 100kHz. These ROHM converter ICs are available in the more commonly used SOP8 SMD package. Typical applications include AC adapters, industrial equipment, and household appliances.

The PWM type converter ICs support both isolated and non-isolated devices that enable the simpler design of various types of low-power electrical converters. These converter ICs consist of current detection resistors as external devices that help in achieving a higher degree of design freedom. The current is restricted in each cycle, and excellent performance is demonstrated in bandwidth and transient response as current mode control is utilized. The PWM type converter ICs reduce the switching frequency and achieve high efficiency at light load. These converter ICs consist of frequency hopping function on the chip which contributes to low electromagnetic interference (EMI).

The quasi-resonant control converter ICs enable soft switching and help to keep EMI low.
