Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) EV173A-S-00A Evaluation Board is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of MP173A, a primary-side constant voltage regulator that provides accurate constant voltage (CV) regulation without an optocoupler. The device supports buck, buck-boost, boost, and flyback topologies. The EV173A-S-00A board is designed as a buck application, featuring a typical 3W output with a 12V/250mA load from 85VAC to 265VAC input. The board offers excellent efficiency and meets IEC 61000-4-5 surge immunity and EN 55022-conducted EMI requirements. More importantly, the radiation performance has improved compared to the MP173. The MPS MP173A features various protections, including thermal shutdown (TSD), VCC undervoltage lockout (UVLO), overload (OLP), short circuit (SCP), and open loop.
