Analog Devices Inc. EVAL-CN0414-ARDZ Reference Design

Analog Devices EVAL-CN0414-ARDZ Reference Design is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) input module with a Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) and open wire detection. The board develops ADI AD4111, AD5700-1, ADuM5411, ADuM3151, ADG704, and ADP2441. The CN0414 is an Arduino-compatible shield that provides a complete, fully isolated, highly flexible, and quad-channel analog input system. This board is suitable for PLCs and Distributed Control System (DCS) applications that require multiple voltage inputs and 4mA to 20mA current inputs. CN-0414 uses GPO0 and GPO1 to enable/disable ADG704 multiplexers that allow a single AD5700-1 HART modem to service all four current input channels.

The analog input circuit accepts four voltages, supporting ranges of ±5V, ±10V, 0V to +5V, 0V to +10V, and four currents, supporting ranges of 4mA to 20mA and 0mA to 20mA. The circuit is powered from a standard 24V bus supply, with on-board filtering and protection circuitry. The module can also be powered from other standard supplies, starting from 12VDC to 28VDC.
