Shields for Arduino

Adafruit Shields for Arduino are turnkey solutions for adding additional functionality to any Arduino-based project. Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. These prototyping platforms are intended for artists, designers, beginners, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments. The shields are Arduino compatible and perfect for use with any Arduino Uno, Leonardo, or Mega. The Shields for Arduino pack a surprising amount of technology into a compact form factor and are user-friendly.

1438 Motor Shield v2 for Arduino

Adafruit 1438 Motor Shield v2 for Arduino is an easy way to drive DC and stepper motors. This shield has the ability to drive up to 4 bi-directional DC motors or 2 stepper motors. The TB6612 MOSFET driver with 1.2A per channel current capability is used with the shield. The 1438 motor shield with a PWM driver chip onboard handles all the motor and speed controls over I2C. The Motor Shield is compatible with Arduino UNO, Leonardo, ADK/Mega R3, Due, Diecimila, and Duemilanove.
