Optical Sensors

Vishay Optical Sensor portfolio includes reflective, transmissive, and ambient light sensors. These feature either analog or digital output. Reflective and transmissive sensors are typically used to detect the presence of an object, and to determine its directional motion and speed. Ambient light sensors are used to measure the environment’s light level. VEMD8080 PIN Photodiode

Vishay VEMD8080 PIN Photodiode is a high-speed, high-sensitivity PIN photodiode with enhanced sensitivity for visible light. This photodiode is a low profile Surface-Mount Device (SMD) including the chip with a 4.5mm2 sensitive area which detects visible and near infrared radiation. The VEMD8080 photodiode operates at a forward voltage of 1.2V and offers a 20V maximum reverse voltage rating. Typical applications include high-speed photodetector and wearables.
