August 27, 2012 – Mouser Electronics, Inc. is stocking new BeagleBone capes, including a 3.1MP Camera Cape, Audio Cape, DVID-02 Cape, Weather Cape, and a 4.3" TFT LCD Cape. These capes continue to expand the capabilities of the BeagleBone Community Development Board.

BeagleBone Capes are expansion boards which can be stacked up to four at a time. The full list of BeagleBone Capes include LCD Capes, DVI-D Capes, the Breakout Cape, Breadboard Cape, CANBus Cape, RS232 Cape, Battery Cape, Camera Cape, Weather Cape, and the Audio Cape.

The new 4.3" TFT LCD Cape offers a panel that is also a 4-wire resistive touchscreen. This screen can display resolution up to 480x272. The DVID-02 Cape provides a DVI-D interface, audio interface, and a standard HDMI connector. This board also features two standard 3.5mm audio jacks for audio input and output, and the output resolution is hardcoded to 1024x768. The 3.1MP Camera Cape provides a portable camera solution, with a 3.1-megapixel camera that interfaces to BeagleBone via GPMC. The Weather Cape provides weather data including temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, and ambient light. The Audio Cape provides a low-power audio output and integrated microphone. Two standard 3.5mm audio jacks are used for audio input and output, and this cape also features a TLV320AIC3106 audio codec with stereo headphone amplifier that can enable 48kHz DAC playback.
