EFM32 Happy Gecko MCUs

Silicon Labs EFM32 Happy Gecko microcontrollers deliver 80% lower power drain to enable longer battery life and better performance in energy harvesting applications. USB employs relatively slow communication events that can keep the main processor active longer than needed. The EFM32 Happy Gecko autonomous USB peripheral offloads USB communication tasks from the main processor core in order to have communication in low energy mode. EFM32HG MCUs offer high integration and small packages to enable small form factor designs. Nearly all external component requirements are eliminated, to allow for use in USB connectors and thin form-factor wearables. The EFM32HG autonomous peripherals manage sensor inputs, thresholds, alarm triggers, and other off-chip communication without the intervention of the main processor core. This increases sleep mode time and extends battery life. The EFM32HG employs the Simplicity Studio™, a comprehensive IDE including sample code, demos, datasheets, technical support, and energy aware monitoring tools.
