In line with our commitment to product excellence and continuous
improvement, Bourns Sensors and Controls Product Line is
introducing new manufacturing tooling for the Models PEC11 and
PEC12 Incremental Encoder Series. Existing tools are nearing end
of life and can no longer be refurbished, necessitating
fabrication of new tools.

The new manufacturing tooling enhancements include molds,
stamps, assembly tooling, and electrical testers for improved
manufacturability and yields. The products produced by the new
tooling can be identified by the new base model numbers PEC11R
and PEC12R. Samples are available upon request.

Production from the new tooling will have improved quality and
reliability. Full qualification testing on both Models PEC11R
and PEC12R has been successfully completed and is available upon
request. Minor internal design and material changes offer better
quality and reliability. For specific material changes please
see the Material Declaration Sheets.

Manufacture of the existing designs will cease when all orders
have been transitioned to the new part numbers and current
shipments have been completed. Backlog orders may be flipped to
the new part numbers upon request of the customer. The last time
buy date for the current Model PEC11 and PEC12 is August 7,
2013.

Production quantities of the new Models PEC11R and PEC12R are
now available and will begin shipping with all new orders for
the new part numbers.
